WELCOME TO THE 2019-2020 SCHOOL YEAR
Saint Columba Spanish Language program; 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th is based on Español Santillana and
0rganized in three major blocks: Linguistic nucleus, An in-depth look into culture and Putting knowledge into action.

Saint Columba language program 3rd. and 4th. is based on VIVA EL ESPAÑOL.
Students learn through several teaching strategies recommended such as TPR (Total physical Respond),
and the natural language approach, emphasizing on dialogue making classes more active, motivates students to
participate this way can focus on practical foreign language skills that they can use outside the classroom.
They also learn vocabulary words and simply grammatical structures, listening, watching video etc.
Students participate in cultural celebration in the Hispanic culture during the year such as Spanish speaking countries independence day, Hispanic Heritage Month and the celebration of ´´Cinco de Mayo´´ and others .
Students in lower levels immediately are taught basic classroom vocabulary and essential words and phrases, helping the students toward acquiring functional oral foreign language skills (speaking, listening and comprehension)
Grammar is introduced in the context of teaching a specific communicative skill.
